The books can stand alone by themselves, but who wants to start in the middle of a series when you can just start with A for Alibi. □ If you haven’t read any of Grafton’s books before (specifically in the Kinsey Milhone Alphabet Series), then you must. And I’ve loved that Grafton kept Kinsey in the past and didn’t fast forward too far in the future with all of the tools/gadgets that are available these days for Private Investigators (cough:internet:cough). ![]() I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the main characters in this series. I will be really sad when this series is over. The test is whether Kinsey can prove her case against him before she becomes his next victim. Once again breaking the rules and establishing new paths, Grafton wastes little time identifying this sociopath. Sue Grafton’s X: Perhaps her darkest and most chilling novel, it features a remorseless serial killer who leaves no trace of his crimes. X: The twenty-fourth letter in the English alphabet. Notoriously tricky to pronounce: think xylophone. Derived from Greek and Latin and commonly found in science, medicine, and religion. 1 The novel, set in the late 1980s, finds Kinsey pursuing a sociopathic serial killer. It features Kinsey Millhone, a private detective based in Santa Teresa, California, a fictional version of Santa Barbara, California. X: The shortest entry in Webster’s Unabridged. 'X' is the twenty-fourth novel in the 'Alphabet' series of mystery novels by Sue Grafton. ![]()
